Philosophy

Today I interviewed my teacher about her philosophy of teaching. She felt it was important to focus on the whole child. To create a kid who can survive in the world and can have conversations with people and be part of a society. She wants her students to feel safe and comfortable so they can communicate with people and get to know them. She believes you need to be comfortable and feel safe before you can understand the educational portions of life.
And so far my aiding in her class room is going well and I like all the children :)

  1. Wow. That actually makes a lot of sense. Not many teachers can say that they focus on the "whole child" when the kids are this young. It would be really interesting to see how she tackles such a big project.

  2. Wow is right! This sounds incredible. I really like how she's looking at the big picture instead of just focusing on the "now" and the initial childhood development. It definitely is something that I would want someone to do as they were teaching my own children.

  3. I really enjoyed listening to her philosophy because it seems a lot different then most teachers. I wish I would have been taught this way when I was younger, I think its a pretty cool way of teaching, and pretty interesting!!
